    • Geoffrey Robertson QC – Nigella was in a relationship with Geoffrey who was a human rights lawyer. They broke up, as Geoffrey dumped her for Kathy Lette, who was a novelist.
    • John Diamond (1986 – 2001) – She met John in 1986, during her writing tenure with The Sunday Times. John, a journalist was writing for the same newspaper. Soon, they developed liking for each other and tied the knot in 1992. The couple were blessed with a daughter, Cosima Thomasina Diamond (1993) and a son, Bruno Paul Diamond (1996). In a twist of fate, Diamond was detected with throat cancer in 1997 and succumbed to it in March 2001. It left Nigella shattered and she suffered an attack of depression following the funeral.
    • Charles Saatchi (2003-2013) – In September 2003, Nigella married Charles, an art collector. However, she wasn’t too happy in this relationship. In 2012, she expressed her discontent too. June 2013, came as a shocker to public when Sunday People published photographs of Saatchi clutching Lawson by the throat outside a London seafood restaurant. He later tried to refute the truth about the pictures and said it was “playful tiff.” However, it marked the beginning of their legal battle in the court and during the trials, Nigella revealed how Charles used to make her life miserable with cruelty and his abusive nature which drove to resort to drugs. Ultimately, they were divorced on July 31, 2013. She had no children from this marriage despite it lasted for a decade.

    As an English journalist, she started her career as a book reviewer and restaurant critic. Later, she went on achieving the post of deputy literary editor of The Sunday Times (1986). It was followed by her journey as a freelance journalist, writing for a number of newspapers and magazines.

    Although not a professional cook, nor did she obtain any training in culinary skills, but out of her sheer passion for cooking, she went on becoming a food author. She brought out How to Eat (1998), her first cookery book, which sold 300,000 copies and became a best-seller. How to Be a Domestic Goddess (2000), was her second book and it won her the British Book Award for Author of the Year. She has sold over 3 million cookery books worldwide to date.

    1. She hails from a Jewish family and the original surname of her family was “Leibson.”
    2. By participating in the third series of the BBC family-history documentary series, Who Do You Think You Are?, Nigella discovered a lot about her family’s ancestry. She got to know that her ancestors were Ashkenazi Jews who belonged to Eastern Europe and Germany, instead of Iberian-Sephardic ancestry which she used to believe.
    3. Nigella’s father Nigel divorced his first wife Vanessa, in 1980 and married Therese Maclear, a House of Commons researcher in the same year and continued the marriage till 2008.
    4. Her mother Vanessa too went for second marriage with philosopher A. J. Ayer and the marriage lasted till she died at the age of 48 due to liver cancer in 1985.
