Marlee Matlin is a deaf actress who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1986 film “Children of a Lesser God”, becoming both the first deaf actress and the youngest actress to win the award at 21 years of age.
She married Kevin Grandalski in 1993, and the couple raised four children together: Sarah, Brandon, Tyler and Isabelle.
Marlee Matlin became deaf when she was 18 months old. She made her stage debut at the age of seven in a children’s theater production of “The Wizard of Oz”.
