- When she was still a teenager, Anastacia’s father left the family and she and her family relocated to live in New York City.
- She started her professional career as a dancer (dancer for hire) and appeared in two videos for the hip hop trio, Salt-n-Pepa. She was active as a professional dancer from 1983–1992.
- Before she became a leading vocalist, she worked as a backing vocalist.
- Anastacia is a huge charity supporter. Through the years, she supported numerous charity events including Life Ball 2006 (AIDS charity event), Challenge for Children, Make a Difference, and 46664 (organized by Nelson Mandela).
- After Anastacia was diagnosed with cancer, she and Estee Lauder created the foundation “The Anastacia Fund.”
